This special tour takes you into the Shiretoko Goko, where is closed to the public during winter. This is a rare chance to explore untouched nature up close.
Here, you can walk through wetlands, forests, and frozen lakes where is allowed to explore only this season.

Snowshoe is a tool which is attached with your boots to walking on deep snow without sinking.
It works by distributing your body weight across a larger surface area.
Also the underside is equipped with metal grips or teeth, which help prevent slipping.
Even first-time users can walk safely and comfortably with snowshoes.

📌Participation Requirements
- ・Age : Junior high school age or older
- ・Body Weight : Under 99 kg
- ・Physicality : Walking more than 3 km on sow with snowshoes
- ・Language : Basic English-speaking skills without translation.
📌Fee for the Guided Tour
- ¥8,000 per person
- ＊Including the Shiretoko Goko winter usage fee (¥1,500) and tax.
＊Ski suit rental fee is separated from the guide fee.（Rental fee: ¥1,000 per person per tour） - Advance payment only（※）
Accepted payment methods: JCB, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay
*Tour fee + possible currency conversion fee (charged by your card company)
*Ski suit rental fee must be paid in cash (Japanese yen only) on the day of the tour.
🚙Pick-up Information

・If you are staying in the Utoro area ; We can pick you up at the Hotel.
・If you are staying besides Utoro area ; We can pick you up at 「道の駅うとろシリエトク（Michino eki Utoro Shirietoku）」
・Pick-up time would be 10 – 30 minutes before the tour stars.
※We will text or call to inform you the pick-up time at night, 2 days before the tour.
👚Recommended Winter Clothing for the Tour
- What to Wear: ・ Waterproof and insulated outerwear (like a ski jacket and pants)
- What to Bring ・Please store all belongings in a backpack or crossbody bag.
- Rental Option ・ Ski suits are available for rental as ¥1,000 per set / per tour (includes jacket and pants)
・ Warm, waterproof gloves / Mittens
・ (Freecy) Sweater
・ Winter hat that covers your ears
・ Thick, warm socks
・ Sunglasses (if you need)
Proper winter gear is essential for walking in snowy conditions and staying warm during outdoor activities.
For safety reasons, your hands should remain free at all times during the tour.
・Drinks:
Please prepare your drinks in advance.
Since there are no toilets during the walk, we recommend beverages without diuretic ingredients such as caffeine.
※No rental fee will be charged if don’t use them on the day of the tour.
※Please contact us in advance if you need rental ski suit.
・ Winter boots are available for free rental.
※ Even with the rental boots, your toes can get extremely cold. In severe cases, this may cause pain or even frostbite.
Please make sure to wear thick, warm socks to protect your feet from the cold.

• Advance reservation is required because of the stock limitation.
• No fee if reserved but not used — feel free to book.
• Size patterns are limited then we cannot cover all body types.
• If we cannot provide suitable wear on the day, you may not be able to join the tour for safety reasons.
⚠️Important Information Before Joining the Tour
- Tour Guidelines ・The tour schedule is regulated by park rules, which can be changed suddenly.
- Participation Restrictions ・ Pregnant people: There is no Ob/Gyn around here.
・We cannot delay the tour start/end.
・Please be fully prepared by meeting time and place, and be there with all members.
If you cannot make it, we won't take you to the tour and need the cancelation fee.
・No toilet after we meet until back to Utoro town.
・In case of the weather condition, the tour can be canceled, shorten, or changed walking route.
・Depending on snow and ice conditions, the tour season may end earlier than scheduled.
・Tour cancellation can be decided suddenly, like on the tour date sometimes.
・Our tour guide will provide guidance in English only. However, please note that we are not all fluent English speakers. Thank you for your understanding.
・ Drunk people: Don’t drink before / during the tour.
・ Disobedient to the guide: May compromise safety.
